Keoladeo National Park: Where Nature Sings

It was a captivating experience for me to visit Keoladeo National Park, formerly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. The sanctuary, located in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The chirping of birds greeted me as I stepped into the verdant sanctuary, which created a calm ambiance that seemed worlds away from the bustling life of the metropolis.

More than 370 bird species call the sanctuary home, including migratory species like the spoonbill, painted stork, and Siberian crane that use it as a wintering ground. The well-preserved wetlands of the sanctuary, which were studded with water lilies, made for an ideal photographic background. I also visited the Keoladeo temple, which is the inspiration of the park’s name, and savoured the tranquil surroundings while watching the sun’s warm rays soaking the surroundings.

I was in awe of the abundant biodiversity and breathtaking natural beauty after spending a day at the sanctuary – A must visit place for nature lovers.
